Cocktail recipes and stories from Scandinavia

Spirit of the North was commissioned by German publisher teNeues as a cocktail guide to the spirits and flavors of the Nordic countries. Created with Danish mixologist Selma Slabiak, the book features 30 recipes inspired by the four Scandinavian seasons.

Charlie Bennet photographed all 30 cocktails, as well as Selma’s portrait and a selection of preparation images featured throughout the book. Published by teNeues in 2018, the project combines Scandinavian ingredients, seasonal inspiration and contemporary cocktail culture.
